The decisions of US President Donald Trump in the field of foreign trade may have a positive impact on the Russian economy, said Boris Titov, the special representative of the Russian President for relations with international organizations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
„Trump is healing the Russian economy. On the one hand, oil prices will fall - this is negative for budget revenues and the ruble exchange rate, but this will give an impetus to reducing dependence on raw materials. On the other hand, the lack of tariffs is an opportunity to increase exports and develop new industries for our own and the American market.“
According to Titov, many countries facing protective tariffs will invest in production in Russia. “The same Chinese with their cars. And this will lead to the long-awaited diversification and growth of our economy," explained the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation.
