Chinese technology corporation Xiaomi will consider the possibility of supplying its electric cars to foreign markets only in 2027.

“There are a huge number of people in China who are queuing up for Xiaomi cars, so in the next 2 years, the company will focus mainly on deliveries to the domestic market and will consider the possibility of exporting only in 2027.“, said the chairman of the board of directors of the company Lei Jun during a live broadcast on the social network Weibo.

At the end of June, the first crossover Xiaomi YU7 went on sale in China, priced at 25.35 thousand yuan (35,000 USD). Lei Jun noted that within three minutes after the official start of sales, the company received 200,000 orders for the new electric car, and within an hour this number increased to 289,000.

At the end of March 2024, Xiaomi, which initially produced smartphones and various consumer electronics, introduced its first electric car SU7 - a four-door sedan. In addition to the basic configuration, the SU7 is presented in improved Pro and Max versions. In February 2025, Xiaomi showed the sports electric car SU7 Ultra, which can accelerate to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds.
