Watermelons are cheaper by over 19%, other fruits are more expensive on the stock exchanges in our country during the week, data in the weekly bulletin of the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) show, BTA writes.

The market price index (MPI), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, decreased by the minimum 0.05 percentage points to 2.177 points. Last week, the MPI was at a level of 2.178 points. The base level of the MPI - 1,000 points, dates back to 2005.

The data show that watermelons are cheaper by 19.23 percent to 0.84 leva per kilogram wholesale. Strawberries are the most expensive - by 10.56 percent and are traded at 4.65 leva per kilogram wholesale, and apricots - by 10.08 percent to 3.80 leva per kilogram. The price of cherries is up by 1 percent to 9.52 leva per kilogram, apples - by 5.97 percent more to 2.59 leva per kilogram. Lemons are more expensive by 8.63 percent to 3.60 leva per kilogram.

Vegetable prices are moving in different directions, with cabbage rising the most - by 8.08 percent to 1.07 leva per kilogram, and carrots are the cheapest - by 5.43 percent less to 1.22 leva per kilogram. Potatoes are cheaper by 2.59 percent to 1.13 leva per kilogram. Green peppers are also cheaper - by 3.44 percent to 2.58 leva per kilogram, as well as red peppers - by 3.27 percent to 2.90 leva per kilogram. Cucumbers are more expensive by 4.37 percent to 1.53 leva per kilogram. Tomatoes are 5.26 percent more expensive and are traded at 2.36 leva per kilogram. The price of ripe onions is up by 7.81 percent to 1.16 leva per kilogram.

Cow cheese is more expensive by 0.55 percent to 11.30 leva per kilogram, while the price of "Vitosha" type yellow cheese is down by 0.22 percent to 17.92 leva per kilogram. Yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) is more expensive by 0.89 percent and is sold for 1.36 leva per 400 g bucket, and fresh milk is cheaper by 0.78 percent to 2.28 leva per liter. The price of butter (125 g package) is lower by 0.52 percent and is sold for 3.08 leva per piece.

Chicken meat is more expensive by 0.87 percent to 6.73 leva per kilogram. Eggs (size M) are cheaper by 3.51 percent and are sold for 0.33 leva per piece wholesale.

The price of rice is down by 0.30 percent to 3.35 leva per kilogram. Ripe beans are down 0.09 percent to 4.40 leva per kilogram. Lentils are up 0.87 percent to 4.39 leva per kilogram. Type 500 flour is up 0.92 percent to 1.54 leva per kilogram. The price of oil is down 0.69 percent to 3.16 leva per liter, and sugar is up 0.32 percent to 1.89 leva per kilogram.
