"About 10% of the world's population, or about 700 million people, use the ChatGPT neural network, developed by the American company OpenAI, every week", said the chatbot's lead developer Nick Turley.
"We currently have 700 million users, so we're facing various surprises, which are simply inevitable when we're talking about such a huge number of users, each of whom is different from all the others", he said in an interview with The Verge.
Turley added that the company's goal is to reach 1 billion weekly users worldwide. He also called ChatGPT a "global phenomenon" and stressed that the company's analysts are observing "healthy growth" in the use of neural networks in most countries of the world. India has a particular potential for the spread and use of ChatGPT, the developer noted.
On August 7, the new artificial intelligence model GPT-5 for the ChatGPT chatbot from the American company OpenAI became available to all users. It can help in conducting research, data analysis, programming and solving problems.
