APS: After this vote, it will become crystal clear that this government survives because of Peevski's support - 1

After this vote, it will become crystal clear that this government survives and relies on the support of Delyan Peevski and the “New Beginning“, and all three parties agree to pay the price of this support. This was stated from the parliamentary rostrum by Hasan Ademov from the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms“ (APS) parliamentary group during the debates on the requested resignation of the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet, BTA reports. The APS signed the draft resolution for a vote of no confidence in the Council of Ministers with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov submitted last week.

Ademov noted that the goal of every vote of no confidence is to overthrow the government. If this seems impossible today, there is no way for the opposition parties to provoke a valuable debate with the ruling party, in which they could shed light on the ways of behind-the-scenes corrupt governance that has nothing to do with the public interest, the MP commented. The natural answer to the question of what the alternative is is always in the hands of the voter, who with his vote suggests possible governance formulas, Ademov said.

According to him, another goal of the vote is to show the fundamental problems in governance and thus force the co-ruling members of the so-called minority coalition to think about the electoral price they will have to pay by continuing to support this government - it is very expensive. All parties in the government realize that remaining in it brings them serious electoral and image damage, said Ademov.

He recalled that a year ago, the APS had stated that the "long arm of the conquered state" was not directed only at them, but that this phenomenon was about to become a problem for the entire state. Only one party, without political, media and public support, cannot oppose the gaining momentum of the model of mastering all institutions through unprecedented pressure, repression to join the right side, said Hasan Ademov. The local authorities, pressed to the wall, were faced with choosing either a photo shoot in front of the coat of arms or ending it according to all the rules through pressure and coercion, he explained. For those who succumbed to fear, in most cases not of their own free will, a cash bonus followed under the municipal investment program, which is a classic scheme for controlling local government with the help of institutions and public resources, the APS representative explained.

The feeling of self-sufficiency and forceful reflexes in the past lead to absurd statements by those in power, such as an emotionally dropped remark about returning the right of the police to beat hard, Ademov also said. The current government has given the green light to the takeover of more and more sectors in state administration and feels helpless to oppose it. The motives of the vote are categorical evidence of breaches in justice and internal affairs, Ademov also emphasized.

In his words, the approach of those in power to belittle the votes of no confidence, declaring them a waste of time, betrays concern and fear. This vote managed to unite all opposition parties, regardless of the differences between them, the MP said. Nearly 80 pages of motivations were prepared, based on both concrete facts and undeniable evidence of the government's inability to cope with the tools of the conquered state. This vote inspired protest energy, Ademov added.
