The government announced yesterday that they are already starting to sanction under the Euro Adoption Act. The official website for the adoption of the euro in our country also went live yesterday.
„You know that the dual labeling, which began in the summer, had a two-month delay. So from October 8, it rather says in the law that sanctions begin. This is more of a warning to traders. This week, all traders and small businesses should really look around. The fact is that everyone already has both prices. Sometimes it looks better rounded only to the first digit, but look again this week to see if it is in accordance with the law“. This was commented on in „This Morning“ economist Petar Ganev.
“Prices are formed based on supply and demand. In my opinion, the state has very few tools with which it can influence these prices. One of the attempts they are making is to use a website to inform people about prices, which I don't think will work. But at least we see that the state is trying to help people switch to the euro,“ said financier Nikola Filipov.
“In recent years, we have witnessed a fairly sharp increase in the gross salary in the country. And this is a direct consequence of the policy that the state is pursuing regarding salaries in the public sector. In this situation, private business simply cannot help but raise prices in order to compensate for this expense," he commented.
According to him, the focus in the budget should be on expenses.
In his words, if we want to have an effective fight against price levels, rising inflation, this practice simply needs to be limited - that is, the state should stop raising salaries in the public sector, because the private sector simply has nothing to do.
Petar Ganev pointed out that if merchants need to increase the salary of sellers, they should raise the price of cheese or yellow cheese and asked how it is decided which product should become more expensive.
In his words, this year's budget is "a done deal".
