On site in Elenite, I was convinced that something outrageous had been done. This was stated by the Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov and added that the Act for establishing illegal construction of the DNSK is absolutely impartial, quoted by bTV.
According to him, all activities to establish the violations have been carried out and the legal appeal period is currently running - 14 days. Only then can a demolition order be issued, which can be appealed.
According to him, the illegal constructions in the Drashtela riverbed must be removed.
„We have submitted all the necessary documents to the prosecutor's office, I hope that the investigation will be objective, quick and that all officials who allowed this illegal construction in the riverbed will be identified“, said Ivanov.
Regarding compensation for property owners, Ivanov explained that they should seek their rights from the investors who built the illegal buildings.
„This is entirely private property - streets, water pipes, sewers. If the government decides at some point to take action to demolish... To date, we have no legal grounds for carrying out such activities there. Aid and water have been provided to those living in Elenite,“ the regional minister also said.
He commented that if the flood had occurred during the active tourist season, the victims would have been many times more.
The DNSK continues to inspect construction sites in riverbeds along the Black Sea coast.
