Economy Minister Petar Dilov considers the sale of Lukoil's assets possible, but noted in an interview with bTV that this requires additional time and that only the assessment of their value will take approximately 12 months.

„No sale is currently planned. Such a deal would require significant time, and only the assessment of the assets would take approximately 12 months. Our current goal is to ensure the continued operation of the company, which supplies approximately 80% of the country's fuel supplies. It must continue to function. In the future, in order to avoid the impact of sanctions, it is necessary to consider a change of ownership, but this is not our goal,“ said the minister.

“A possible sale could take place with the consent of Lukoil and the company could receive the necessary funds,“ he continued.

Dilov welcomed the idea of Lukoil's assets being acquired by the Bulgarian Energy Holding.

“I like this option; it would bring additional revenue to the budget, but this issue is not on the agenda at the moment. It is important for us to ensure the stability of the company's activities,“ said the minister.

Dilov specified that the candidate for Lukoil's special sales manager in Bulgaria has not been determined.

“This candidate must be approved by the government; this person must ensure that the proceeds from the sale of the company will not be sent directly to Russia-.
