In a post on social networks, the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev revealed some of the additional remunerations of millions of levs received in 2024 by the leading elite of the state administration.
“Millions of levs for bonuses in the state administration. In 2024, the leading elite in the administration secures record additional remunerations. While Bulgarian citizens struggle with inflation, uncertainty and lack of services, state leaders receive tens of millions of levs in the form of bonuses – often without clear criteria, without control and without accountability,” Mirchev states.
According to him, “we see a chaotic system without a single principle, with glaring differences and disproportionately high bonuses at the top. These numbers have never been made public in such a clear, complete, structured and unambiguous form. Instead of moving towards a more efficient, transparent and accountable structure, the administration continues to swell, and its costs are growing without brakes. “Yes, Bulgaria“ has been pushing for reforms for years, but the authorities prefer to preserve the comfort of senior officials – at the expense of everyone else”.
Mirchev also published specific examples of bonuses received for 2024:
1. Chairman of the Court of Auditors – 113,257 leva.
2. Chairman of the Commission for Public Oversight of Registered Auditors – 56,000 BGN.
3. Members of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission – 50,991 BGN. (total nearly 900,000 BGN.)
4. Member of the Financial Supervision Commission – 40,534 BGN.
5. Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency – 37,400 BGN.
6. Secretary General of the Commission for Public Oversight of Registered Auditors – 32,520 BGN.
7. Executive Director of the National Agricultural Advisory Service – 31,392 BGN.
8. Executive Director of the Registry Agency – 31,043.10 BGN.
9. Secretary General of the National Agricultural Advisory Service – 30,543 BGN.
10. Director General of the Directorate General of the Civil Aviation Administration – 27,000 BGN.
11. Chairman of the National Council for Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products – 24,100 BGN.
