Assoc. Prof. Burudzhieva: This protest has no economic motive and the energy of the 1997 protest - 1

In order to consolidate the current situation, we must predict that the protests will not become permanently radicalized. The protests in 1997 blocked the state. Only an economic motive can block the state and overthrow the government. Now people protest after work, when there is time. This protest has no economic logic, does not have the energy of the 1997 protest and is led by the old faces.

This is what he said on the show "The Day Live" on NOVA NEWS political scientist Assoc. Prof. Tatyana Burudzhieva, who comments on the topics of the protests and whether early elections are possible.

"I don't see how this protest will become radicalized. Yes, the protests are massive, which speaks of a very good organization. A battle is beginning for the purity of this protest. The opposition says that it is almost as if the ruling party has organized some groups to break and destroy their power plants. This thesis is very complicated to understand and explain. I can't say whether the ruling party will resign. They may or may not. The opposition did a great job communicating about the protest, but now they can't explain whether they want the cabinet to resign or not. Now they are also confusing this vote of no confidence. It is clear from now on that the opposition will not like the new budget either. The leaders of the protest explain that they are defending the interests of the middle class, but this is not exactly the case. It is high time that politicians sat down and had a serious talk about equalizing incomes in the country," she added.

"GERB and DPS-New Beginning should at least be worried about early elections. We see that the parties' electorate has shrunk to the hard core. Both hard cores of GERB and DPS-New Beginning want one thing - for their parties to be in power. "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" are excited by the thought that there are many people at the protest and they support them. The question is whose protest is this. PP is very jealous if any other politician shows up at the protest. This is how they feed their illusion that they can become the first political force. This pumping does not work in elections. "They can't prepare for quick elections, and in my opinion, the people at the protest hate all politicians," Assoc. Prof. Burudzhieva was categorical.
