President Iliana Yotova begins consultations today to appoint a caretaker prime minister.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan has been invited to the first meeting of “Dondukov 2“. The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. at the presidential institution.
A total of 10 officials can be appointed to the post. The so-called “House Book“ includes the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Governor and Deputy Governors of the BNB, the Chairman of the Court of Accounts and his two deputies, as well as the Ombudsman and his deputy. Some of the candidates for caretaker minister –prime minister have already refused to take up the post.
After President Iliana Yotova determines who she will assign a mandate to for a caretaker cabinet, the candidate has one week to propose a government. Along with the appointment of the caretaker cabinet, the president must also set a date for early elections, which are to be held within two months.
