Resigned Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov will participate in the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, Belgium, the ministry's press center announced.
The NATO forum will provide an opportunity to discuss the implementation of the most important decisions related to the defense and deterrence potential of the Alliance, taken at the Summit in The Hague in July 2025.
The meeting will discuss a number of key issues on NATO's agenda, such as the implementation of the commitments made to increase defense spending, long-term political and practical support for Ukraine, and the implementation of a more proactive approach to deterrence and defense.
A few days ago Reuters reported, citing five sources, that the "Arctic Sentry" mission could be announced at a meeting of NATO defense ministers. The mission aims to strengthen surveillance and military presence in the Arctic amid tensions between US President Donald Trump and European allies over Greenland.
