"I expect gas station prices to fall in the foreseeable future", Acting Finance Minister Georgi Klissurski announced.
„Prices on international oil markets have already fallen by 15-20 percent as a result of the two-week ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, so now I expect gas station prices to fall in the foreseeable future“, Klissurski explained at a briefing after a meeting of the Council of Ministers.
„De-escalation of the conflict in the Middle East is the surest way out of the price shock we are currently witnessing. "However, we have provided funds - up to 18 million euros for intercity transport, mainly for lines in small municipalities, intercity municipalities, mountainous areas, as well as 2.5 million euros for school buses," he said, quoted by BTA.
According to him, with this, the cabinet has already activated several of the six main measures aimed at the transport sector - the postponement of the increase in toll fees from April 1, which means that about 30 million euros will remain in this sector, mainly aimed at smaller businesses and carriers that use lower environmental category vehicles.
Klisurski also recalled the possibilities for leasing rescheduling through the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency. Bulgaria has notified state aid for the transport sector in the amount of 50 million euros, Klisurski added.
“Regardless of the situation, we will take adequate actions aimed at the sectors and citizens who are most in need“, commented the Finance Minister.
