In connection with the conclusion of the election process, the statutory period within which the cleaning of campaign materials from public spaces should be carried out begins.
After the parliamentary elections held on April 19, the Sofia Inspectorate begins inspections in connection with the removal of campaign materials on the territory of Sofia, in parallel with the regular control that the institution carries out. According to the Electoral Code of the Republic of Bulgaria, the responsibility for their removal within the statutory 7-day period lies with the parties, coalitions and initiative committees that placed them. In case of failure to comply, after the expiration of this period, the relevant administrative-punitive measures will be taken against the responsible persons.
Until election day, the removal of materials placed in violation was carried out by the mayors of the relevant districts. After the elections, the obligation passes to the participants in the electoral process.
The Sofia Inspectorate will carry out inspections after the 7-day period has expired through its teams responsible for the control of commercial and advertising activities.
The institution calls on all responsible persons to take timely action to remove the campaign materials in order to restore the cleanliness and good appearance of the urban environment.
