The 52nd National Assembly officially begins work. The ceremonial opening will be attended by President Iliana Yotova, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil, representatives of various faiths and the diplomatic corps.

The first parliamentary bell will ring at 10:00 a.m. As tradition dictates, the session will be opened by the oldest MP - 77-year-old Rumen Milanov from "Progressive Bulgaria".

A red carpet was laid in front of the central entrance of the parliament building, along which the new 240 MPs walked.

Compared to the last National Assembly, there will be more women this time, but men still predominate - 183 gentlemen and 57 ladies. Their average age is about 49 years. The oldest is Gen. Rumen Milanov from "Progressive Bulgaria" - at 77, and the youngest - 23-year-old Anna Bodakova from PP-DB. The longest-serving member is Dzhevdet Chakarov from DPS.

By profession, the deputies are mainly lawyers, economists and engineers.
