Mirchev: PP's decision to separate is a big political mistake, the general alliance is quite unfinished

Mirchev explained that there have always been differences between PP and DB, especially on economic policies - DB has always been against distributing aid "in a big way". Mirchev: PP's decision to separate is a big political mistake, the general alliance is quite unfinished - 1

The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev described the decision of “We continue the change“ to separate into an independent parliamentary group as a big political mistake.

In an interview for the program “This Saturday and Sunday“ on bTV, he emphasized that the proposal for the so-called “general alliance for parliamentary actions“ is unclear and incomplete.

“We got acquainted with the document at the moment when they told us that they wanted to split. And it was quite peculiar. The document itself rather includes intentions, rather than a structure and a specific plan“, said Mirchev.

According to him, there is a lot of work to be done on it and at this stage it is quite unfinished. He emphasized that “Yes, Bulgaria“ has made an attempt to prevent the split.

Mirchev pointed out that the decision to remain in a common parliamentary group was supported almost unanimously by the National Council of the party. There was only one vote “for“ the split into two parliamentary groups.

According to the representative of “Yes, Bulgaria“ the separation is contrary to the expectations of the voters.

“When 10 days after the elections we tell them that “We continue the change“ is leaving, it is not fair to the people themselves“, commented Mirchev.

He admitted that there have always been differences between the PP and the DB, especially on economic policies – the DB has always been against distributing aid “to the kalpak“. But he added that such disputes are normal. “In every coalition there are debates and disputes. This does not mean that we should react emotionally“, the MP specified.

Regarding future elections, including the presidential ones, he allowed the possibility of a common candidate.

“There is no reason not to support the same candidate, but it is harmful to comment on names at the moment“, said Mirchev regarding the mention of the caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov as the common candidate of the two formations for president.
