Today at 11 a.m. the head of state Rumen Radev handed the third mandate to form a government to the parliamentary group of "There is such a people".
The chairman of the PG of "There is such a people" came to receive the mandate in the presidency. Toshko Yordanov, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group Ivaylo Valchev and the secretary Stanislav Balabanov.
The President pointed out that it is becoming increasingly clear that the 45th Parliament has exhausted its life.
"Thank you for your trust. We fully understand the difficult situation you have been put in with these completely unnecessary changes to the Constitution that ITN voted against.
Unfortunately, in this National Assembly, our votes were too few to be able to stop them. The government of the last 9 months we have long identified as harmful, so we are glad that this agony is ending. For us, this government is vicious and we must go to elections.
That is for the sovereign to decide. Some described the election as chaos and unnecessary. Even yesterday we heard someone say that unfortunately the people will choose. We don't think so. We think that elections are the highest form of democracy," Valchev said.
The first mandate was returned by the GERB-SDS party, after the candidate for prime minister, Maria Gabriel, submitted an application to refuse to form a cabinet and announced the end of negotiations with PP-DB.
From the coalition of Kiril Petkov, Atanas Atanasov and Hristo Ivanov refused to form a cabinet with the second mandate and also demanded two-in-one elections in order to save BGN 100 million.
