I hope there is neither chaos nor crisis. It would create mistrust of the electoral process if a bright figure like Rosen Zhelyazkov became acting prime minister. This would cast doubt on the electoral process and would make fewer people go to vote. This was stated by the deputy chairman of GERB, Tomislav Donchev, in the program “More from the day” on BNT, quoted by novini.bg.
„If there is a lesson here for all of us, it is that the Constitution does not change in 2-3 months. Let's see how the texts will work. I don't agree with the apocalypse picture. Still, the list of possibilities is long”, he emphasized.
„In the last three years, the president has gained a very long experience with caretaker governments. To have an official government that is as non-political as possible, does not inflame political passions and organizes fair elections, Donchev urged.
When asked why there was a rift in the coalition, Tomislav Donchev stated: “If you build an elegant structure on an unstable foundation, it cannot remain upright – the structure was unstable. If a relationship becomes impossible, who is to blame, the one who ends it, or the one who made it impossible? Let's not let society hypnotize itself by telling it – services, regulators, etc”.
„I agree to start a discussion about the services, to prepare a reform project in the best possible way – for them to become more efficient, more accountable, more transparent. But this conversation doesn't seem like that to me. It seems to me that our people should become chief and deputy chief. Replacing one person with another is not a reform. When we talk about the offices, I do not claim that they belong to President Radev, because he appointed them. They serve the republic. What cession of territories? The conversation about the services was what kind of people should we send there, and this is not a reform”, the deputy chairman of GERB pointed out.
„In any configuration, the picture will change in a few months. When we talk about regulators, Prof. Ekaterina Mihailova said that the historical logic is to have representatives of all parties in them in order to have internal opposition and control, and I agree with her. Whatever disputes were manifested publicly, the theme was one - the desire to control all state and social systems, which is not good and not healthy for any party”, he said.
„The main theme is that a government does not exist for us to enjoy it or for someone to be a minister, but to give results. My criticisms are that the results fall far short of the fairy tales. There are good things done – progress on Schengen, for example. Still, half is better than zero. In general, it was a period of crisis. Conclusions must be drawn from everyone, and above all, that isolating the first never leads to sustainable results”, Tomislav Donchev summarized.
