"The "Petrohan" case is without analogue in our history. It shocked every sober-minded Bulgarian citizen. Besides the fact that we can talk about administrative omissions, the problem is much deeper. This is a worrying symptom of what is happening in Bulgarian society." This was said by the MP of the BSP-OL and educator Petya Tsankova on the air of BNT.
She stated that after the documents from the investigation are provided to the National Assembly, she will mainly familiarize herself with that part of the investigation that concerns the educational institution and the family. According to her, uncontrolled liberalization in every area, including education, has led to a replacement of values, broken moral foundations and a degrading society.
"We have lost some of the basic elements of society - family, education and responsibility. The main shortcomings are in the family and parents, because they are responsible for the child up to the age of 18. I cannot imagine a parent not allowing their child into the classroom, where he is safest in the hands of the teacher, and giving him to another person, in another place. The problem is the deficit of resilience of Bulgarian families," commented the MP. She was categorical that teachers must have the protection of the state in order to be able to calmly fulfill their duties, which are significant for any society.
Tsankova characterized the activities of the teachers from the investigated "Kosmos" school as irresponsible because they did not fulfill their statutory obligations to record the absences of their student, which is shocking, as well as the fact that a large part of them are pedagogically incompetent.
"The fact that we retreated from conservative and value-based education and gave precedence to the alternative training in question through non-governmental organizations is the biggest problem in education", the socialist. Tsankova noted that all parties in the current parliament, with the exception of the PPDB, want education to return to traditional values and to strengthen its educational function.
Asked about the position of the left on the veto imposed by President Yotova on the changes to the electoral code, Petya Tsankova explained: "We see an expertise in the motives for the veto, we also know the position of our BSP chairman, so we will have a serious debate in the parliamentary group and make a decision".
When asked where the new course announced by the chairman and Krum Zarkov will lead the BSP, Tsakova replied: "After the strong charge of our Congress, I am convinced of success".
