„The Solingen tragedy deserves more publicity, the culprits – just punishments! We cannot put under any shadow what is happening in Solingen and the crimes cannot in any way be left unsolved! I ask this question here so that there is justice for the victims of this act that was committed in Solingen and for the community that expects such justice.“, this is what MEP Ilhan Kyuchuk said to the EP.
The leader of the European Liberals expressed concern about the push to renovate the building, as well as attempts to have it removed before the investigation was completed. According to him, this raises some doubts and calls into question the objectivity of the investigation.
„Four Bulgarian citizens were set on fire! My colleagues and I participated in a protest march and it was peaceful. Various citizens participated in it, and many of them were actually German, and the appeal of this protest was – “ WE DON'T WANT HATE!“, together with this call, however, there was also a very strong call for the perpetrators of the crime to be revealed! And we really owe it to him as a European civil society.”, Kyuchyuk was categorical.
