Financiers: We will enter the Eurozone, regardless of the elections and the political crisis - 1

Elections and political events will not slow down the accession process of Bulgaria to the Eurozone, assured the deputy governor of the BNB, Petar Chobanov. The Deputy Minister of Finance Metodi Metodiev expressed the same thesis, BNR reported.

The two participated in a conference organized by the Association of Commercial Banks in Bulgaria.

The sector assured that it is ready for the adoption of the single European currency.

The banking system is stable, well capitalized and managed according to regulatory requirements, assured Petya Dimitrova, chairman of the Association of Banks in Bulgaria and executive director of one of the leading banks in our country.

"Banks accredit conservatively and within the framework of the regulators, we do not have figures or growths that threaten the stability of the system,", she explained.

Most banks in Bulgaria are part of large international groups that have already gone through the process of introducing the euro and have the experience and expertise, assured Tsvetanka Mincheva, vice-president of the Association and head of another leading bank in our country.< /p>

Regardless of the fact that the inflation criterion still remains a challenge for Bulgaria, the banking sector is working with the idea of introducing the euro next year.

Political upheavals will not change the course of events, according to BNB Deputy Governor Petar Chobanov. "A strong signal that we are moving in the right direction and have support from European partners is the agreement signed with them. If they had reservations, they wouldn't have signed it," he said.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Finance Metodi Metodiev reminded that the Eurozone is a top priority.
