A year and a half after the freezing of the Commercial League project to build a private children's hospital in Sofia - the government allowed the same investor to build a multi-specialty hospital with the name "Mama and I". The decision was announced yesterday.
The medical facility will be able to work with the Health Fund and will offer treatment to both children and adults, according to the announcement of the Council of Ministers.
„Many governments were wary of signing such a treaty. I hope the motives of Dimitar Glavchev are sufficiently motivated, said Iliana Yotova, who also expressed the hope that this project does not endanger the construction of the state children's hospital.
"For me, this was a surprise, because the whole philosophy of the change in the Constitution, of the texts, these were at least the motives of those who were in a hurry during another big holiday - the eve of Christmas to accept these changes. It was for the fact that official offices should fulfill their most important function - to prepare transparent and fair conduct of elections. These are big decisions, serious decisions. The only thing I can comment on is that the private hospital should not eliminate or threaten the construction of the children's hospital, the state children's hospital, which generations of Bulgarians have been waiting for," the vice president was categorical.
The state hospital must be built, she confirmed.
"But how it will be built, how it will be arranged afterwards and if it gives enough opportunities and motives to the good pediatricians, I think they will prefer the state hospital, and everything else is up to the conscience of the official cabinet that signed this decision", Iliana Yotova concluded.
The vice-president wanted a reasonable election campaign, in which the most important things should be talked about outside of the current affairs. "Looking into the parties, scandals and political selfishness so that everyone can defeat the other, but not at the cost of new ideas and at the cost of what we should do for Bulgaria, is a road to nowhere," Yotova said. She added that she hopes the campaign will have a different spirit and messages regardless of its beginnings.
