Iliana Yotova on the changes in the gambling law: Hastily adopted laws always show that they don't work - 1

Hastily adopted laws always show afterwards that they don't work. This is how Vice President Iliana Yotova commented on the changes to the Law on Gambling, which the deputies adopted at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday. The National Assembly finally approved a complete ban on gambling advertising in the media, recalled  Darrick news.

„I haven't read the entire law yet and any preconceived notion would be wrong. When we get to know him, our institution will also say its attitude. But hastily passed laws always show afterwards that they don't work. I don't know exactly what the motives are, I don't know if a sufficient assessment of the results of the consequences of this law has been made, as it should be with every single law in the Bulgarian legislation. When laws are made at the last minute - at 12 to 5, and at extraordinary meetings, this doubt always remains,”, the vice president emphasized.

In connection with the upcoming elections, Yotova wished for a reasonable pre-election campaign in which to talk about the most important things, beyond the trivialities. “ Let the big conversation about the future of Bulgaria begin. We Bulgarian citizens miss this a lot. This looking into the parties, into the scandals, into the compromising documents, into the selfishness, the political selfishness of each to defeat the other, but not at the cost of new ideas, not at the cost of what we should all be doing in Bulgaria, in my opinion, is a road to nowhere. Therefore, I very much hope that this campaign will have a different spirit and different messages, regardless of its beginning,”, she stated.
