The house of a three-member family burned down completely in a fire in the village of Ignatovo, municipality of Valchedrum, reported the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Montana, reported BNT.
At 22:00 on May 2, the fire department received a report of a house on fire in Ignatovo. When the fire crews arrived, the house, which has a built-up area of about 70 square meters, was already completely burnt together with the property in it.
During the subsequent investigation, it was established that the fire started from an unextinguished cigarette, which a 20-year-old youth from the neighboring village of Dolni Tsibar threw on the floor. He was visiting the home and at one point retired to sleep in one of the rooms of the house. Before that, however, he threw an unsmoked burning cigarette on the floor and caused a big fire.
The hosts and the guest went outside and were not injured. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
