The volume of the "Studena" dam has increased in recent days. brought together the manager of "Water Supply and Sewerage" (Waterworks) Ltd. Pernik Eng. Borislav Ivanov, the regional governor of Pernik Ludmil Veselinov and the mayor of the municipality Stanislav Vladimirov, informed by "Waterworks".
At the meeting, the situation with the volume of the dam was discussed, as well as the amount of water that is released in view of the coming days, when intense rainfall and increased inflow to the water body are expected.
The manager of "Water" explained that during the weekends, attempts were made to release larger amounts of water in order to increase the free volume in the dam, BTA reports. As a result, the Struma River, in the area of the village of Studena, has drastically increased its level, which has necessitated the release of a smaller amount of water from the dam.
At the moment the situation is calm, and the volume of the dam "Cold" decreases significantly, reports from "V". However, actions will be taken at the critical points along the river in the area of the village of Studena, in order to avoid critical situations. In the rest of Struma, the levels are currently low and no significant increase is expected in the coming days.
According to the data of "V&V" - Pernik the water volume of the dam "Cold" is approximately 24.5 million cubic meters with a capacity of 24.2 million cubic meters. 5,300 cubic meters per second are released.
