A special operation to counter crimes involving narcotic substances was launched yesterday in the territory of the capital.
In the course of the actions taken, around 4 p.m., in the area of “Vladayska“ officers of the Fourth RU detained a 19-year-old known to the police for drug possession. During the personal search and subsequent procedural-investigative actions in his home, the uniformed officers seized ecstasy pills, marijuana and the sum of BGN 16,000.
An hour later on “Edison“ officers of the First RU also arrested a 47-year-old man with criminal convictions. Procedural actions followed in his home, where the police officers found that one of the rooms was fully equipped and set aside for a drug greenhouse.
Many pots with hemp plants, a jar with dry plant material, as well as the corresponding lighting fixtures, air ducts, thermometers, fans, electrical transformers and aluminum foil were seized from the premises. The result of the appointed expert report showed that the grassy mass was marijuana weighing 35.01 grams.
After a report of the materials in the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the two detainees were brought as defendants under Art. 354А, a measure of remand was imposed on them “cash guarantee”.
