Valery Todorov on the changes made by Putin: Russia is really entering a mobilization mode - 1

Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing a military offensive this summer. This is what journalist Valery Todorov, who is a former BNR correspondent in Moscow, said in the bTV News studio.

„From all the reshuffle that Russian President Vladimir Putin has made in the government, it is obvious that the military-industrial complex is strengthening. I think that Russia is really entering a mobilization mode, since the key figures who will henceforth determine the policy and the line of war are related to the military-industrial complex, he explained.

It is no surprise to him that Sergei Shoigu left his post. “Such rumors have been going around for a long time, but still he currently holds a sufficiently high post as chairman of the Security Council and will continue to be in direct contact with Vladimir Putin – they are very close“, he also said.

Valery Todorov also commented on the figure of Andrey Belousov. “He is known for being a good organizer and an effective manager. He has a good image in society and since he is a civilian, he will probably deal with all the issues of the economic part of the war, the army and the country,”, the journalist pointed out.

He also recalled that General Valery Gerasimov remains in his post. “Denis Mansurov, who is also connected to the military-industrial complex and especially to rockets and space technologies, is taking Belousov's place as deputy prime minister. Five governors were also drawn to higher positions in the government and in the presidential administration, he added.

According to him, a tougher foreign policy can be expected, as well as the concentration of all efforts towards a possible military offensive.

„Putin will try to conduct from now on a policy of fait accompli, i.e. “what we have taken is ours and let him now negotiate further”. To me, this is the result of the misinterpretation of the results of the Cold War – they were not interpreted as a victory of democracy over autocracy, but as a victory of one country over another”, Valery Todorov also said.
