Bulgaria may be part of the Eurozone in 2026 at the earliest. He warned about this in "The day begins" on BNT the former finance minister Simeon Dyankov.
According to him, Bulgaria is currently on a rather unpleasant list of countries in which money is laundered, so not only legal changes should be made there, but the entire infrastructure and institutions that should deal with this, in they are not working well in the country at the moment.
According to him, a functioning regular government and a very good information campaign are needed to achieve this goal.
"We are not ready, we are not covering inflation first. There are several laws, not only for the Eurozone," recalled Simeon Dyankov.
He noted that issues that concern both citizens and businesses are yet to come out. When we get in, what? is one of the main ones that politicians and entrepreneurs have to answer, asked the former finance minister.
The majority for entering the eurozone is very fragile - just over 50%, he pointed out.
