The weather is winter in the mountains. The conditions for tourism are bad, the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) informed BTA.
In the higher parts there is light wind and fog. Above 1700 meters there is a new snow cover between 5 and 10 cm. Visibility is reduced. Temperatures are around 0 degrees.
The weather forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) shows that it will be mostly cloudy and foggy over the mountains. There will be precipitation from rain, at a height above about 2300 meters - from snow. It will blow to a moderate southerly, in the highest parts – temporarily strong westerly wind. The maximum temperature at a height of 1200 meters will be about 13 degrees, at 2000 meters – about 6 degrees.
