After years of criminal inaction on the part of the then rulers, we are about to lose the Simeon lift for good. This is stated in the position of the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council Tsvetomir Petrov, sent to the media by the press center of the institution.
„I want to remind that it was sold by the Metropolitan Municipality to “Vitosha ski“ back in 2007 and from then until last year – nothing. All deadlines for post-privatization control have already expired. What the contract was and how it was followed can be checked and investigated, but now the situation is this – the elevator is not functioning”, points out Petrov.
„We are already working on drawing up a Vision for Vitosha. I was at one of the first meetings of all interested parties and I think colleagues are working hard, he added in the position.
The chairman recalls that a decision was voted in the municipal council to make Vitosha's roads entirely municipal, as at the moment, according to him, ownership is fragmented.
„This will enable the municipality to make basic repairs, not just to fix potholes and clean the roads in the winter,”, he also points out.
I can't imagine that there is no one to blame for the Simeon lift going down in history. Specific names - who sold it? Who monitored the implementation of the post-privatization contract, who allowed the deal not to be terminated? I will try to learn these names soon, with which I will also refer the competent authorities, pointed out Tsvetomir Petrov.
The reason for the shutdown of the facility is the lack of parts for maintenance, Mediapool.bg stated in its publication from yesterday, referring to information from the Italian-based company “TechnoAlpin”, indicated as the owner of the company “Vitosha Ski”.
On the website of “Vitosha ski“ a message was published stating that “the lifts are undergoing maintenance and will not work until the start of the summer season”.
