We have started a large-scale action to clean the cemetery parks. Starting today, the mowing and removal of bushes and branches in the green areas of the Central Sofia Cemetery began, Mayor Vasil Terziev said in his Facebook profile, quoted by BTA.
We have foreseen the necessary technique with which the cleaned organic mass will be transported and then processed in the biological treatment plant in Khan Bogrov. Already with the first volunteer actions for cleaning and landscaping the Sofia cemeteries, we promised the citizens that we would solve the accumulated problems in the municipal enterprise “Cemetery parks” to the end, Terziev points out.
Promises require consistent action. We have repeatedly emphasized that the problem is not only in the unfriendly way these places look, the muddy alleys, the damaged integrity of the fences and the unregulated access of outsiders, adds the capital's mayor.
In his words, the neglected general condition of all cemeteries is also a consequence of numerous abuses, which the new management of the municipal enterprise has uncovered and handed over for investigation to the competent authorities.
There are 25 days left until Chereshova Zadushnica, in which we will work every day. By June 22, we will return the normal appearance of the Sofia cemetery parks and we will continue to make the necessary efforts to maintain them in the form in which every citizen expects them to be, states Vasil Terziev.
