Will there be more fat policemen: Kalin Stoyanov asked the Ministry of the Interior to accept men with "first degree obesity" - 1

In the police, they can to work men with increased body fat. This proposal for public discussion was signed by Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, reported Bulgaria ON AIR.

The values described correspond to "obesity of the first degree". Specialists warn that these dimensions are unhealthy and it is almost impossible to meet the standards for the police. The Ministry of the Interior proposes that the maximum body fat threshold be raised by 5 units.

"An index of 18.5 is below the norm. This is taken very lightly. Between 18.5 and 24.9 – This is normal weight for your height. Between 25 and 29.9 this is already overweight. The Academy accepts people up to 29.9, which is already overweight. Already between 30 and 34.9, this is considered obesity of the first degree. Here we can already talk about serious problems. A pre-diabetic condition can be developed at any moment," said coach Stanislav Chakarov.

The proposals signed by Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov are still only under discussion and have not been adopted. In case they are canceled - the level of the Academy will not drop, its rector assures.

"The admission of a candidate with a different body mass index will not lead to a reduction in the requirement for his physical fitness", added the rector of the Academy, Ivan Vidolov.

Admission to the Academy of the Ministry of the Interior goes through medical and psychological tests. It is also possible to apply with grades - from the diploma and from the Matura in literature. Physical tests are also taken.

"In view of the technologically developing society as a whole, the candidates who appear, compared to the previous 10 years, are a little less prepared, but they cover the general framework for the requirements and needs of the Ministry of the Interior,", comments senior lecturer Ivaylo Lubomirov.< /p>
