Radev: Our country needs decades to develop its nuclear energy - 1

President Rumen Radev said that Bulgaria should decades from now continued to develop nuclear power rather than giving up its base capacities. According to him, quoted by BNT, this will give us peace of mind until our country begins to rely entirely on the sun, wind and other new sources of energy.

The head of state was a special guest at the International Nuclear Conference, which takes place in the Golden Sands resort. near Varna. Radev reminded the participants of the event that Bulgaria has 50 years of experience in the safe and reliable operation of nuclear facilities, and that entirely with our trained, highly qualified personnel. He gave as an example the neighbors from Romania, who are working to build new reactors:

"And I, in my remaining mandate as president, will also work with the Bulgarian governments and the Bulgarian parliament so that we have greater clarity and more serious guarantees. The construction of one new unit opens up the possibility of thousands of new jobs during its construction. It then enables other additional employment. The ways forward are clear. I am very glad that finally, after long years of waiting, which turned out to be disastrous, there is a political decision and the will for Bulgaria to continue developing its nuclear energy."
