The Kremlin can stop the war in Ukraine tomorrow if it decides, but Putin has no desire to negotiate and wants to continue the aggression in Ukraine. This was stated by the US Ambassador to Bulgaria, Kenneth Merten, at today's round table on "Building Institutional Resilience Against Malicious Foreign Influence". The organizer of the forum is the Center for the Study of Democracy.
This means that Ukraine will continue to need our support, and that of Europe. We must continue to work with our allies side by side in efforts to be sustainable and be able to respond to these challenges, commented Merten, quoted by BTA. Our Bulgarian partners perfectly understand how important it is to continue to be united and to support the defense of Ukraine, added the ambassador.
Thanks to our cooperation with the Bulgarian government and our partners, such as the Center for the Study of Democracy, Moscow realized that Bulgaria is now no longer an easy target, Kenneth Merten also said.
The ambassador indicated Bulgaria's participation in the peace plan of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky through the activity in the field of energy.
