„It turned out that there are two reference values for measuring inflation. The European Commission's reference value is 4.1% and the ECB's is 3.3%. The two institutions consider the inflation criterion differently. There was no such case in the recent past.

He established this together with the economist Georgi Ganev. According to Dimitrov, the more important reference value is that of the European Commission. She is the shorter one.
„We are getting closer to the Eurozone, if there is no internal sabotage”, said the MP. According to him, the inflation criterion can be met by October-November if there are no extraordinary events. A budget update is considered an extraordinary event, he explained. Then we should ask for a converged report. There remains the chance for membership from July 1, 2025, added Martin Dimitrov.
