This is how the former Minister of Defense Velislav Shalamanov commented on the broadcast of bTV the refusal of the head of state to participate in the NATO Summit, reported by novini.bg.
"The president should have made it very clear what exactly he disagreed with. We are entering a hypothesis in which Radev refuses to fulfill his constitutional obligations and defend the country's position," he explained, however.
"There cannot be a clear position, there are clear decisions, such as for increasing the capacity of the defense industry, which is very much in Bulgaria's interest, as well as for commanding the coordination of military aid to Ukraine,'' he also commented Prof. Shalamanov.
"Unity and determination are among the most important messages of this meeting. "Compromise is not a bad word, but a tool for achieving results step by step," he added.
