The municipalities of Rila, Kocherinovo and Boboshevo declare a partial state of emergency from July 1, according to the order of the regional governor of Kyustendil, Eng. Alexander Pandurski. This is necessary due to the serious problems with the water supply in the lands of Smochevo village, Rila municipality; the village of Mursalevo, Kocherinovo municipality and the village of Slatino, Boboshevo municipality. It also concerns the catchment condition “Robovitsa“ and the imperative repair works that must be carried out urgently.
The decision to declare a partial state of emergency was made at a meeting of the District Disaster Protection Headquarters, and the proposal was supported unanimously. Days earlier, the municipal headquarters of Kocherinovo, Rila and Boboshevo also made a decision to declare a partial state of emergency.
The water catchment was built in the 1960s, after that no repair works were carried out. It provides water to several settlements in the three municipalities. During the summer season, the flow of water decreases, but the losses in the facilities and along the water supply are also significant.
A decision was made to hire a construction company to carry out the urgent emergency restoration works. It is planned to start designing for the main repair of the water catchment site “Robovitsa“.
Efforts will also be aimed at seeking the assistance of the Interdepartmental Commission for securing funds.
