The registration of the delegates to the Patriarchal Electoral Church Council, who tomorrow will elect the new Bulgarian patriarch, begins, BNR reported.
The number of delegates to the Fourth Patriarchal Electoral Church Council is 140, and in addition to senior clergy, it includes clergy and laity from each diocese, monks and representatives of theological schools.
Their registration will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until noon, said the spokesman of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Cyprian.
In the evening in the "Saint Sophia" church, the delegates will take part in a divine service, which will be attended by the delegations of the Local Orthodox Churches, which arrive for the enthronement of the future patriarch.
At 9 o'clock on Sunday in the church "Holy Sunday" Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will be welcomed, where a short memorial service will be held at the grave of Patriarch Neofitus.
Today at 11 a.m. in the Patriarchal Cathedral "St. Alexander Nevsky" the abbot of the Troyan and Bachkovo monasteries - Bishop Sioniy will bring the relics of the holy patriarch Euthymius of Turnovski. The pilgrimage to the shrine will take place on July 1 – on Monday.
