Two-day international conference on the topic “Transposition of the Directive on adequate minimum wages in the EU - a key factor for the future of work: quality employment with guaranteed social security“ will be held in the Confederation of Labor “Support”.
This was announced by the press center of the union, quoted by BTA. The conference will be opened by the president of CT "Support" Dimitar Manolov.
During the opening, speeches will be made by: the executive director of the Employment Agency (EA) Smilen Valov, the chairman of the Economic and Social Council (ECS) in Bulgaria Zornitsa Rusinova, the vice-president of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (BCC) Maria Mincheva and the co-chairman of European Workers' Center (EZA) Piergiorgio Scaqua.
The main panels will be related to the new Directive on adequate minimum wages in the EU, the economic and social consequences of the introduction of adequate minimum wages in the short term and in the long term, as well as the measures to combat the negative impact of the crisis caused by the increased cost of living.
The forum will provide an opportunity to exchange positions between union representatives from France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Romania, Serbia.
On May 22 of this year the chief economist of KNSB Lyuboslav Kostov stated that the minimum wage from 2025 should be BGN 1,080. He recalled that on September 1 the Minister of Labor and Social Policy should determine the minimum wage for the next year and added that nearly BGN 2,200 . is the average salary for the first quarter of this year.
