After on Wednesday, the largest parliamentary force GERB-SDS failed to form a regular government, according to the Constitution President Rumen Radev is obliged to hand the DPS the second mandate, NOVA reported.
However, GERB-SDS have already stated that they will not support the second mandate, and so the probability of forming a government with him is minimal. The same applies to the third mandate, which the head of state hands over at his discretion to one of the other formations in the parliament.
The progress of this procedure, which could take two weeks, may coincide with the ruling of the Constitutional Court on the changes to the basic law. If the court cancels the new rules for appointing an interim government, declaring them invalid, then the old situation will return - the composition of the next interim cabinet will be entirely in the hands of Rumen Radev.
