Defender Giorgio Chiellini has left the position of player development coach at FC Los Angeles, reports "Football Italia", quoted by BTA.
The former footballer could return to Juventus, for whom he played for 17 years, after it was previously reported that he could become the technical director of the Turin club.
"It is not easy to find the right words to express my feelings. A mix of emotions fill my heart, but I really want to thank the entire Los Angeles FC family. You welcomed and helped me and my family from day one, making our move easier,” he wrote on Instagram.
"I have been deeply involved with the club and loved every moment of the last two years. We discovered and embraced new cultures, built lifelong friendships, and now I know I have a second home in California. Thank you, FC Los Angeles. It's not goodbye, it's just see you in the future," added Chiellini.
His return to the Italian national team, where goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon already works, is also possible.
The 39-year-old played for Juventus from 2005 to 2022 before moving to FC Los Angeles where he ended his career and joined the American club's coaching staff in January 2024.
