Three arrested in an operation by the GDBOP against a drug trafficking group

Specialized operation of employees of DG “Fighting organized crime“ was held on the territory of Sofia yesterday and today. Three were detained in the course of the actions to intercept the activities of an organized group carrying out trafficking, distribution and possession of narcotic substances, undertaken under conditions of urgency.

During the searches of five addresses and three motor vehicles, large amounts of different types of narcotic substances were seized - cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, amphetamines and marijuana. In a luxury property in the capital, the largest quantities were found: 230 kg of marijuana; 20 kg of sprayed herb; 1 kg of cocaine; 7,600 kg of amphetamine; 0.550 kg captagon (tablets); 2 kg of ecstasy (tablets); 2000 pcs. marijuana seeds; 10 g of heroin. In addition to the narcotic substances, 3 tubes with a chemical substance for spraying herbs, 3 professional vacuum machines, various vacuuming materials and an electronic scale were also found.

According to the initial estimates, the discovered narcotic substances are worth millions of BGN, and the exact value is to be determined during the proceedings. According to experts, the price of seized drugs on the “black market” is many times higher than the costs of court proceedings.

The materials on the case were reported to the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office and pre-trial proceedings were initiated. With a prosecutor's decree, the three arrested were detained for a period of up to 72 hours.

Actions on the investigation continue under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
