A group of volunteers will be involved today in extinguishing the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border in Slavyanka Mountain , BTA reported. On the Facebook page of the Sandan village of Petrovo, which is located near the fire, a call for a volunteer group was published.

The meeting point is at 7:00 a.m. before the village of Goleshevo. Those wishing to participate must be dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear. Carrying shovels, tampons and sprinklers will help, the publication also states.

For extinguishing the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border for today, an organization was made by employees of the fire department, the Southwest State Enterprise, volunteers and hunters. The two Swedish planes sent under the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union will also be relied upon, reported the Blagoevgrad Regional Administration.

The fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border has been going on for more than ten days. According to the latest information from the regional administration, the situation remains complicated. The fire has been contained on the west side, and is moving down the slope from the east.
