Party “There is such a people” (ITN) will today return to President Rumen Radev the unfulfilled third mandate to form a government within the framework of the 50th National Assembly.
This was the last opportunity for a regular cabinet in this parliament. In this situation, we are again going to early parliamentary elections.
Last week, Slavi Trifonov's party held meetings with almost all political formations in the National Assembly and with the independent deputies.
ITN did not gather the necessary support. Such was stated by some of the deputies of the DPS – the MPs around Ahmed Dogan, part of the collapsed group of “Majesty”, as well as the BSP MPs.
Refusal of support came from GERB-SDS and DPS of Delyan Peevski, and PP-DB did not give a clear answer.
After the return of the third mandate under the Constitution, the president must appoint a new caretaker government.
Rumen Radev is also expected to schedule the date of the next elections in the coming days. Most likely, the dates will be on October 6 or 13.
The president must also appoint a new caretaker government. After the return of the third mandate, the head of state must start consultations for the election of an acting prime minister according to a list described in the Constitution.
