Bulgaria took one gold and two bronze medals in the first International Olympiad in artificial intelligence  - 1

One gold and two bronze the medal was won by the Bulgarian teams in the first International Olympiad in artificial intelligence, BNT reported.

The first International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, which began in Burgas on August 9, ended with an official award ceremony for the best participants. Honors and medals were awarded to the competitors in both rounds of the Olympiad – theoretical and practical.

The only Bulgarian team, composed of Delyan Hristov, Kalina Ivanova, Stoyan Ganchev and Velislav Dzhelepov, won a bronze medal in the theoretical part of the competition. The same honor went to the other Bulgarian team, in which Vanessa Kalinkova, Deyan Hadji-Manich, Elitsa Basheva and Delyan Boychev participated, but they also received a gold medal in the practical part of the competition.

In the theory round, teams of up to four people solve tasks prepared by researchers from leading universities around the world. They are from the field of artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning and natural language processing. Participants must create their solution using a laptop, internet and free software.

The gold medals in this round were awarded to four teams - two from Singapore, one from Poland and the Letovo team from Central University. Seven teams - two each from China and Hungary, and one each from Vietnam, Mongolia and Estonia - were awarded silver medals for solving the theoretical task. Bronze medals were awarded to ten teams, in which, in addition to the two Bulgarians, there were also two Romanian teams, as well as teams from Malaysia, Colombia, Vietnam, Poland, Iran and Canada.

In the practical round, in which the participants had the task of creating video and audio content, the teams of Bulgaria, Poland, USA and Australia took first place with gold medals.

Seven teams received silver - "Letovo", China, Canada, Romania, United Arab Emirates, Hungary and Hong Kong. Bronze medals went to the runner-up teams from the USA and Poland, the two teams from Vietnam, as well as from Japan, Colombia, the Netherlands, Jordan, Tunisia and Macau.
