They restrict the movement of trucks over 20 tons in four regions of the country

The movement of trucks over 20 tons on road sections in the regions of Ruse, Razgrad, Silistra and Veliko Tarnovo will be limited from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. due to expected high temperatures above 35 degrees, the "Road Infrastructure" Agency reported, BTA reported.

The restriction does not apply to motor vehicles transporting perishable food, temperature controlled cargo, live animals and dangerous cargo.

In the Ruse region, the movement of heavy-duty trucks will be restricted on the road I-2 Ruse - Razgrad in the section from the exit of Ruse in the direction of Razgrad at the 12th km to the 37th km, as well as on the road I-5 Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo from the Ruse exit at the 6th to the 65th km. Traffic will also be stopped on the I-5 road in the section from the city of Byala in the direction of Ruse to the city of Ruse.

On the territories of the Razgrad district, heavy-duty vehicles will be restricted for movement in a section of the second-class road I-2 Ruse - Shumen – Varna between the Pisanets village turnoff and Beli Lom village (from the 37th km to the 93rd km).

In the Veliko Tarnovo region, the traffic of trucks over 20 tons will be temporarily restricted on road I-4 Sevlievo - Veliko Tarnovo - Antonovo between the village of Novo Selo and the turnoff for the village of Kavlak (from the 101st km to the 173rd km). Traffic will also be stopped in a section of the first-class road I-5 Polski Trumbesh – Veliko Tarnovo - Gabrovo from the area of Polski Trumbesh to Debelec (from the 65th km to the 115th km), as well as along road II-55 Debelec – Limit – Gurkovo, in the section from Debelec to the village of Mishemorkov Khan.

On the territory of the Silistra district, the movement of trucks will be temporarily restricted on the road I-7 Silistra - Shumen.

The suspension of heavy goods traffic in certain sections of the republican road network in the afternoon hours, when the temperatures are the highest, is to minimize the risks of deformations of the road surface and to protect the life and health of travelers, the API states.

They call on drivers to drive carefully and at a reasonable speed, to obey the traffic rules and not to take risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other passengers. The road agency also appeals not to use the emergency lanes on the highways for faster movement in heavy traffic, as this prevents the passage of vehicles with a special mode of movement in the event of an accident.

According to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, sunny weather will prevail today. Around and after noon, cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop over the western and central parts of the country, and in some places it will rain and thunder. It will blow weak, and in the eastern regions, where it will remain sunny in the second half of the day, a moderate wind from the east-northeast. Maximum temperatures will be between 32° and 37°.
