The thief shouts: „ Hold the thief”. With this popular wisdom, we can briefly describe the last speech of Mr. Anton Hekimyan, until recently a “top journalist“, currently a dedicated municipal councilor. We are categorically opposed to any attempt to suggest that someone other than GERB representatives is “guilty” about the economic rise of those accused by the prosecutor's office, Rumen Gaitanski – Valka and Stoyan Mavrodiev.
This is stated in the position of the municipal councilors from "We continue the change" in the capital, sent to the media. Here's more from the document:
While Mr. Hekimyan has been repeating for several weeks that the new government in the municipality has removed only two rows of roof tiles from Rumen Gaitanski's illegal hunting hotel, let me not forget to ask who actually helped build this hotel. so that Valka could park undisturbed in his yard his 30 luxury cars with brands such as Bugatti, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes, eight of which were seized by the prosecutors at the first instance.
According to the evidence gathered by the investigators, in 2019 a loan of nearly BGN 150 million was granted to Valka's company with the personal assistance of the then head of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) Stoyan Mavrodiev.
Let us remind the tirelessly questioning municipal councilor that this same Mavrodiev is a former deputy and senior member of GERB. He, together with Vladislav Goranov (sanctioned under “Magnitsky”) are considered the major experts in finance in the party.
We also remind Mr. Hekimyan that it was GERB that allowed the construction of the hunting hotel to be started and finished, and also did not move a finger to get the “Maria Louisa” bathhouse back from Valka.
Another legacy of Hekimyan's party is garbage disposal in Sofia, the funds for which for 5 years amount to BGN 430 million. Companies related to Rumen Gaitanski-Valka are responsible for a large part of it.
So, Mr. Hekimian, it is really the thief calling “Hold the thief!“
