Goritsa Grancharova, who has been designated as caretaker prime minister, presents the composition of the new caretaker cabinet to the head of state.
In fulfillment of Art. 99, para. 5 of the Constitution on August 9, the president designated the deputy chairman of the Audit Chamber as ex-officio prime minister and tasked her with proposing the composition of an ex-officio cabinet.
Kalin Stoyanov remains interior minister. Rumen Radev declared against his candidacy and set a deadline of 15 hours for a new nomination or he will not sign the decree. In response, the new prime minister defended the nomination of Kalin Stoyanov for interior minister.
Kozhareva is the second female Prime Minister of Bulgaria, after Reneta Indjova, who also headed a caretaker government. The main task of the office is the organization of fair and free elections.
