Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov confirmed to journalists that he would accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev to continue his work in the new office. Zapryanov visited Plovdiv Airport, where the annual joint Bulgarian-American flight training "Thracian Summer - 2024" takes place, and today is the day for guests and media of the flight training.
Minister Zapryanov assured that he has full confidence in Prime Minister Glavchev and expressed his satisfaction with their joint work. "I am part of Mr. Glavchev's team. Let's let the prime minister do his job," urged Zapryanov.
In his words, the fact that the current prime minister has been nominated makes things a lot easier, because he knows every minister, he knows the sector policies, he knows what has been done, he knows the problems. Zapryanov expressed confidence that in the new cabinet Dimitar Glavchev will select the right people to lead the relevant sectors.
We remind you that on Thursday, President Rumen Radev signed a decree by which, pursuant to Art. 99 par. 5 of the Constitution designated Dimitar Glavchev as a candidate for acting Prime Minister and assigned him to present the composition and structure of the Council of Ministers by August 26.
Dimitar Glavchev thanked the head of state for the opportunity and assured him that on Monday he will present the composition and structure of the Council of Ministers, which, according to him, will meet the expectations of the Bulgarian citizens. It is expected that there will be three new ministers in the new caretaker government. Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov will probably leave his post, while Georgi Gvozde will leave his postIf Radev approves his draft cabinet on Monday, he will immediately sign the decree to form a government and expect the new ministers to be sworn in before the National Assembly on the same day. This means that the MPs' vacation will be interrupted and they will meet as an extra on Tuesday for the swearing-in of "Glavchev 2".
In this scenario, the elections will be on October 27. And the people's representatives from the 50th parliament will have 12 more meetings to pass emergency laws before they go out for election campaigning.
