Will there be a new office? The answer - on Monday - 1

On Monday it will be clear whether there will be a new cabinet. President Rumen Radev will meet with the candidate for interim prime minister Dimitar Glavchev on August 26 at 10 a.m. on “Dondukov“ 2, broadcast bTV.

In fulfillment of Art. 99, para. 5 of the Constitution, on August 9, the head of state designated the current acting Prime Minister and Chairman of the Audit Chamber as acting Prime Minister and tasked him with proposing the composition of an acting cabinet.

The election of a new official cabinet was reached after the deputies of the 50th National Assembly failed to elect a regular cabinet – all three terms of office that the president gave them were unsuccessful. Rumen Radev initially chose another candidate for the new caretaker prime minister – the deputy chairman of the Audit Chamber Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva.

Then, however, she refused to sign a decree for the government proposed by her, because Kalin Stoyanov was once again proposed as interior minister. After the refusal, Kozhareva filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office that she was put under pressure, and then appeared at a protest by the Ministry of Internal Affairs officials together with Kalin Stoyanov.

The acting interior minister allowed himself to raise his fist during the protest action. Despite calls for him to step down, he refused to resign.

After that, the president commissioned Dimitar Glavchev to form a new official government. Until Monday – On August 26, Glavchev must present his composition, and if Rumen Radev approves it, he will issue a decree on the appointment of the cabinet on the same day. He will be sworn in on August 27 in parliament. With this development of the procedure, the new early parliamentary elections will be on October 27.
